The truth about fake caller ID and fake calls

Caller ID spoofing is a great new way to protect you and your family’s privacy from all kinds of phone stalking. Caller ID spoofing service gives you anonymity. This means you won’t have to reveal your real phone number every time you make a call. The spoofing system uses a “dummy caller ID” created by you that appears on the screen of the phone of the person you are calling. In this way, the caller ID spoofing service disguises your phone ID while keeping your privacy.

The security of this service is guaranteed by the fact that caller identity spoofing uses VIOP technology. VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol and allows phone calls over an Internet connection. Therefore, VOIP caller ID spoofing simply transfers calls from the telephone operator to the Internet, using a private secure channel. This is the reason why phishing is so safe.

Caller ID spoofing appeared in 2003 and was marketed to law enforcement and private investigators. Private investigators use call spoofing for what is in their business as “pretext calls”. A pretext call is one in which investigators request information over the phone under a deceptive pretext. We well know that caller ID spoofing helped the investigator to solve many cases.

Today this service is available to everyone. Caller ID spoofing and call spoofing have created a lot of controversy about how legal these services are. It is true that some could use call spoofing to make jokes and pranks on their friends and in this way settle in a kind of harassment of them. But this type of manifestation is harmless and the people who criticize the caller ID spoofing service have to admit that this is the only way someone can protect their real phone number and with it their privacy.

At the end of this article I will put my opinion here: Caller ID spoofing and call spoofing are necessary and should be used as they can offer great privacy protection. And if you don’t need it, don’t use caller ID spoofing!
