iPhone 3G – Learn more about iPhone 3G

Apple has always been an aggressive marketer for its product line. iPods have been widely advertised and the launch of the iPhone was marketed as the most anticipated device of the year. Although technologically advanced and a pioneer in introducing a new style, the iPhone has not been as popular in India as in other European markets. The iPhone was priced high and has failed to strike a chord with Indian consumers. It has a niche following and the target audience has not been multiple service users.

Apple iphone 3G is an extension of the previous version of the iphone. The iPhone has also been replicated in its iPod series as the iPod Touch. The iPod is famous for its unique touchscreen navigation and fluid interface. The iPhone is without a doubt a showcase tool that scores high on the oomph factor above all else. It is priced well above other countries; the price is almost double in India. The 3G phone has limited internet access in India as most of the 3G services have just started and are in the nascent stages. By the time 3G services flourish well, the iPhone may be an obsolete device.

The iPhone has features that are not very attractive to Indian consumers. It features only a decent quality 2-megapixel camera, which is now found on most mid-range phones. It doesn’t support video recording, but with the addition of a third-party software application, you can do video recording.

On the positive side, the iPhone 3G is really a great phone in terms of style and looks. It has an accelerometer that automatically flips photos and navigation depending on the direction of the phone, whether it is vertical or horizontal. Potential competitors are now betting on this iPhone model and are inducing touchscreen navigation. Brands like HTC, Blackberry are all ready to compete with the iphone. The price of the iPhone is its disadvantage and the reduced costs can only increase sales in the Indian market. The phone lacks some of the basic features like message forwarding which does not follow the mindset of Indian buyers. There is speculation about a possible reduction in the price of Apple’s iPhone 3G in India. But until the price drops below the 20K marks, it’s hard for Apple to get breakthrough sales of its revolutionary mobile phone.
