What’s hot for 2011?

There are many trends happening in the world of interior design. These are some of the main trends that I am seeing.

TECHNO CHIC – Aims to provide you with unique products that are both functional and fashionable. Furniture and Equipment Removal Working/ Dressing: Steel cabinets that mimic safes, but with elegant perforated panels and doors. Corrugated and perforated metal sheets are widely used in furniture and open shelves, partitions and other items. Bent tube or sheet metal chairs, stools, resembling the lunar rover, all with custom technology.

URBAN ZEN: This trend will stem from consumers reevaluating what they need to live comfortably, with minimal furnishings in natural materials. Each piece of furniture will be selected not only for its purpose, but also for its visual appeal. British textile designer Claire-Anne O’Brien has created a stool collection featuring a variety of woven seat cushions. An ingenious rethinking of the form that an ordinary stool can take.

ETHNIC ENVOY: All nationalities are celebrated in this trend. Lots of colors and patterns make a comeback this year. Ethnic pieces give your home instant history in this fast-paced throwaway world. African masks mixed with French antiques, Moroccan textiles are seen on upholstered sofas.

CELEBRATION: This trend is towards lightness in our overly serious global society. We are tired of bad news and want to “create” our own good vibes. We want to believe that all things are still possible. This trend is all about oversized flowers! Geometry on steroids! Every pattern that was tame in the past now puffs up to a new volume! Let the celebration begin!
