Integration Marketing – Bill Gates’ Secret to Success by Mark Joyner – A Review

When I received an email inviting me to go see Mark Joyner’s quick video on his yet to be published book, Integration Marketing, I was skeptical. Integration Marketing sounded like another Internet Marketing buzzword and I wasn’t ready for another useless buzzword.

If you’ve been on the internet for any length of time, you’d agree with me that what the internet marketing community needs right now is not another one of those things. However, due to the name behind the book, I decided to check it out. It was free, so I figured I didn’t have much to lose if I didn’t like it.

But knowing some of the things Mark Joyner had done in the past, I was quickly directed to the download page, after submitting my name and email address. At first, I was just going to flip through it on my screen, but as soon as I read the first page, I was quickly drawn into the conversation. I quickly printed out the entire 49 pages and set about devouring them, and this is what I found.

Clarifying the definitions and being able to see the battlefield, I think that would be the hardest part of integration marketing. But with practice and dedication they can be easily mastered.

Before reading your book, I had never heard of integration marketing, but after my second reading, I was able to start working with the concept. But Integration Marketing is not just a concept, it is something feasible, practical, as concrete as cement. Once you begin to understand it, you will be able to see it at work around every corner you turn. It is a manual that shows you what to do and how to do it step by step.

The Integration Marketing book is a quick and easy read. The writing style is both conversational and instructional. Mr. Joyner used stories and other anecdotes and graphics to drive the basics home. To really understand the book, you need to understand the definitions of the different components of integration marketing. Some of the key vocabulary terms used in the book are:

integration Marketing,
Integration Points
MarketingValue Unit
Integration marketing offers
Integration partners

Other vocabularies include: Integrator

transaction flow
traffic flow
Integration Marketing Score

He defined Integration Marketing as “the integration of the Marketing Value Unit, for example, an offer or brand name, into an existing Integration Point, for example, within a Transaction Flow, such as when a cashier makes a suggestion for a cross-sell or up-sell.

Integration marketing also brings a new definition to the word strategy. Mr. Joyner defines strategy as “a long-term plan to achieve a goal that allows you to see the battlefield and make correct and consistent decisions quickly, no matter what may arise.”

Mark argues that the ability to see the battlefield allows you to formulate a good, smooth strategy, and the way to do that is by mastering integration marketing.

Who needs to read the book?

Integration marketing is for anyone looking to generate new cash flow or leads, or even brand recognition without having to develop new products all the time.

Benefits of integration marketing

The main benefit of integration marketing, according to Mr. Joyner, is that integration marketing deals can be done quickly and easily, with little outlay of resources and high profit potential over a long period of time. Plus, with the help of Integration Marketing Scoring, you can test the profitability of your deals before you embark on them, says Mark.

In general, Integration Marketing has a lot of hope and promise for ordinary people, just like it does for Bill Gates’ Microsoft or Ray Kroc’s McDonald’s. It also holds an important key to bridging the cultural and economic gap between nations, suggests Mark. As more and more ordinary people begin to structure integration marketing agreements across national borders, they will begin to seek mutual good, thereby reducing the propensity for tension between nations.

As always, Mark Joyner has delivered a brilliant message on a concept and practice that some savvy business empire builders have used to build multi-million dollar empires without bothering to put a name to them. Mark Joyner points out that integrative marketing is not his creation. Many had used shards to accumulate wealth. What Mr. Joyner did was flesh out this ephemeral concept, making it possible and easier for normal people like me to understand.
