You are never too old to get fit / lose weight or start an exercise routine

These days, more and more people who have struggled with weight loss are changing their lives and becoming healthier and fitter. There are also many more people who want to start exercising in some way but don’t know how.

There are many people who will feel that they are too old to start looking for fitness and health or going to the gym and lifting weights or just feeling like there is no hope for them as they have had a weight problem for their entire life.

This is a mental barrier. In previous articles I have mentioned the importance of routine and the effect of a routine or habit that becomes more solid and ingrained the longer it is followed or allowed to continue. These habits or routines can be good or bad.

If you are in the situation, perhaps you are in your 50s or even over 60 and you would like to lose a little (or a lot) of weight or start a fitness program and feel like you are too old to do so, the first thing you need to do is What to do is realize that you are wrong!

If this applies to you, you need to understand that in order to get results from a weight loss or fitness program, you need a couple of things regarding mindset.

First of all, you must realize that it is never too late. If you do things right for 15-20 weeks, you will lose a substantial amount of weight and be much fitter. I’m sure you’ll agree that, in the grand scheme of things, 15-20 weeks is not a long time.

Understanding it?

Once you understand that you can be the weight and fitness level that you would like, you can consider getting an education. It’s all well and good to look at the countless diet plans and fitness methods out there today, all claiming they are your best option.

This is very confusing for people who are new to this game and due to the volume of these products many people will move from one idea to another as these ideas emerge and never see a diet or training program through to the end as usual. there is something that looks better or that promises to produce better results

This leads to little or no results and further supports your belief that it is too late for you.

The best you can do here is stick to a theory. If you know someone personally who has had great results, the kind of results you want, you should educate yourself on this theory and follow it until you get the results. For example:

You know someone who has lost a lot of weight on a diet low in fat, sugar, and calorie control, and three weeks after this, you hear of someone who has had similar results on a fasting diet. Don’t switch to this diet if you haven’t given a solid 8-10 weeks the first time.

The advantages of lifting weights

Many people who have not followed a physical training program before think that lifting weights is for the world’s strongest men’s contest or for the great bodybuilders who are obsessed with accumulating large amounts of muscle.

Weightlifting is for everyone, including those over the age of 60. There are a host of benefits to be gained from this type of activity, including:

Muscular strength

Improve your balance

Improve your coordination

Improve your mobility

Helps reduce the signs of arthritis.

This is a completely different topic, but it is important to know that the amount of muscle mass you have is very valuable, you must keep what you have as the benefits are many!

This does not mean that you should look like the Hulk. Many people dislike resistance training as they don’t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. This will not happen. As soon as you start weight training, you will realize how difficult it is to build muscle this way.

Once you have a sensible fitness plan, “STOP WATCHING” and stick with it! I researched health by all means, but I can’t stress this point enough. I’ve learned this the hard way. You don’t get fitness results if you don’t stick to your plan.

There is a bigger mental barrier to the weight loss / fitness game than most people think. This is more than likely holding you back. Once you decide that you are going to take responsibility and go out there and do whatever it takes to get your results, you’ve taken the first step.

Don’t let anyone else tell you that you can’t or make you feel like you can’t because YOU CAN!

Make your decision, plan your trip and walk your way, if you stay on your way you will reach your destination!
