This talk is about one of the biggest stadiums in Rajasthan in India. Prithviraj Stadium, also known as Khel Gaon in Ajmer, has truly been a destination for all sportsmen from Ajmer and Rajasthan. Be it cricket, football or hockey, the field is large enough to host any gaming competition for any of these games. Teams from all over the state participate in the games organized in this stadium and that is why this stadium has become a very important platform for the players of the state.

The stadium was initiated and funded by the state government in the year 2003. The reason for this was to provide the sports facility to the Ajmer district. The location of the stadium is also very beautiful as it is located on the slope of the Aravali hills. The grounds made in the stadium are from world class facilities. Hockey, cricket, swimming, athletics, badminton, table tennis and volleyball fields are the main facilities of the stadium.

The first match played at this stadium was state level cricket and then state level hockey in the year 2003. Since then the facilities have been greatly improved and several matches are now being staged. The stadium was recently assigned to the Rajasthan Royals, the IPL team for Rajasthan.

The practice matches have started for the selection in the IPL squad and the best part is that many local players are involved in the selection competition this time. Selected players need to fill various game categories from here. The new pitch which was developed a few weeks ago would be great for bowlers who want to show themselves as fast bowlers as the bounce and pace of this pitch is to be expected. There are a lot of these talks about the stadium, but I guess the most important part is the inclusion of this in the IPL.
