Imagine for a moment a typical session with a client. You create a made up script with words that you think will help the client. Improvise using client metaphors

Isn’t it your client who has the thoughts that keep him chained to self-limiting thoughts? Yes, of course he is. So how much better would it be for you to learn to improvise ‘on the fly’ during a session using your clients’ personally created metaphors?

A customer’s phrase makes sense to the customer. That customer’s unique phrase or metaphorical language serves as a “private logic” for your customer. Those metaphors motivate each individual client better than anything you can suggest. So instead of looking for scripts, there is an easier and more effective way to help your customers. How do you use a client’s metaphors instead of a script you create yourself? Just listen. During the pre-interview intake, watch the words you are typing as your clients say them. Notice the metaphors they use. As you write your specific words, phrases, metaphors, similes, etc., use those language tools in the session instead of creating a script yourself.

Quickly be seen as an expert by your customers

Using their clients’ words and phrases, they quickly release and transform self-limiting phrases. The faster they get the releases and transformations they seek, the more comfortable they feel doing personal transformation work. The advantage of them feeling comfortable doing personal development work is that they will quickly see your sessions as very useful to them. This can increase the number of sessions you are hired to facilitate.

So stop looking for scripts. Go for the metaphors during a session!
