Gymnastics in the Peninsula Recommended by Parents

Physical exercise is as important for a child’s development as intellectual upbringing. Through good physical education, children enjoy better health, coordination, and increased self-confidence. Because of this, many parents believe that their children can greatly benefit from gymnastics. Peninsula kids have 3 highly recommended gymnastics schools to choose from, as their parents can attest.

Gymnastics Peninsula

Parents love the attention that the instructors at Peninsula Gymnastics in San Mateo give their children. Students get a top quality education and become excellent athletes, thanks to the structured classes offered. While Peninsula Gymnastics focuses on grooming competition-level talent, the school hosts gymnastics parties to spice things up for the kids. In fact, the only recurring complaint in the mostly glowing reviews is the difficulty in parking in the area, which has nothing to do with the school’s excellent gymnastics programs.

Peninsula Gymnastics was founded in 1995 by the Ukrainian master of the sport Mikhail Margulis. Its preschool program is open to young children from 20 months to 3.5 years, with the participation of parents. Children ages 5 and up have the option of attending the rigorous competitive level classes or joining the lighter recreational level program. Each show has received rave reviews from parents, with many holding a five-star rating.

Gymtowne Gymnastics

Kids and parents alike go crazy for their experiences with Gymtowne Gymnastics in South San Francisco. While some parents may object to the fairly strict rules imposed by coaches, others see their value in ensuring student safety. The trainers themselves are warm professionals who go the extra mile to build a good relationship with their students. The atmosphere is open and friendly, with staff making children feel at home, while all parental concerns are addressed professionally. It is not surprising, then, that a good number of parents are sold on the free trial class that the school offers to prospective students.

Gymtowne Gymnastics has provided world-class training for over ten years. The school offers introductory programs for children ages 1-5 and more advanced classes for children ages 6 and up. Classes can be recreational for kids looking for some exercise or competitive for those who are more serious about sports. The school also offers classes for teens and adults ages 12-23, reinforcing the fact that it’s never too late to start gymnastics.

Gold Star Gym

After moving from its original El Camino location, Gold Star Gym in Mountain View has just gotten bigger and better. Parents love the variety of classes available in its clean, airy facility. Children are not only exposed to traditional gymnastics activities like rings and uneven bars, but also enjoy obstacle courses, arts and crafts, and parachute games. The classes can seem a bit intense, especially for children 4 and under, but the talented teaching staff manages to get students to settle in fairly quickly. Children eventually get used to the demands and become good athletes. Some parents have had the misfortune of some logistical mistakes, but the school overall is very well organized and comes with encouraging recommendations.

Since its founding in 1996, Gold Star Gym has offered classes to people of all ages. Children can start as soon as they can walk by participating in the school’s KinderStars program up to age 3. The children can then move on to the MiniStars program, where they practice gymnastics without the help of their parents. Promising students ages 4-8 may be invited to the Junior Olympic program, where they will undergo tough competition-level training, though recreational classes are also offered for children in first grade and older. Youth ages 11-18 can join the teen program, while those 16 and older can attend the adult programs.
