Diabetes symptoms in women

There is no reason to panic if you have been diagnosed with diabetes. Especially, women are branded as ‘weak and scary’ by society. Whereas, I think women are much stronger and more sensitive mentally. Although a diabetic life is a bit difficult to maintain, it is generally a good life. We just need to be patient and start our treatment as soon as possible. And all this is not possible if we do not get a proper diagnosis of our problem.

If diabetes is diagnosed at an early stage, we can definitely avoid the severe intensity of diabetes. Due to the hectic lifestyle, diabetes has become a common disease in the modern world. The proportion of women suffering from diabetes has increased in recent years. The symptoms of diabetes differ from each other. Diabetic women tend to have hormonal and sexual disorders. They mostly suffer from female ailments such as candidiasis in the vagina, frequent secretion of white blood cells and complications during the menstruation cycle. Diseases related to the sexual organs are often found in diabetic women.

Women can suffer from all three different types of diabetes; type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. Women with type 1 and type 2 diabetes need to be very careful about their diet. The amount and time are the main factors included in the diabetic diet. Certain foods that can be harmful must be strictly refrained from your diet. A diet should include healthy and nutritious foods. The diet should be consumed in the recommended time with the prescribed amount. Obesity and poor eating habits are two main causes of diabetes. Lack of nutritious food, inadequate sleep, lack of exercise, stress, and poor lifestyle also lead to diabetes.

Gestational diabetes usually occurs during pregnancy. This type of diabetes is cured naturally after the child is born. Typically, type 1 diabetes symptoms develop after a short period, while type 2 symptoms occur at a slower rate. People suffering from mild diabetes may not discover the symptoms for a longer time. They do not experience any type of symptoms for many years, which are usually noticed after many years. Therefore, it is essential that women are aware of all the symptoms that may indicate the arrival of diabetes. The symptoms of diabetes in women are as follows:

  • Excessive thirst
  • sudden weight loss
  • Irritation
  • frequent urination
  • Blurry vision
  • slow healing process
  • dry and itchy skin
  • Infections that affect the sexual organs of women
  • recurring hunger
  • Swelling of heels, gums and feet.

As I said before, the symptoms differ from person to person. Women should be aware of all the symptoms as a negligent action towards them can lead to serious complications. As soon as you encounter any of the warnings mentioned above, see your doctor.
