2011 NFL Draft – New Players

Soccer season is one of the best seasons of the year for us soccer fans! The smell of chili cooking, filling the fridge with cold drinks, tailgating and dressing up in our favorite player or team’s gear!

We got a bit of that taste a few weeks ago when the 2011 NFL Draft was introduced. It was a three-day event to see which college guys would soon become men. There were a few surprises and there were some cheering moments from the crowd, but I have to say the boos from the NFL Commissioner were great every time he stepped up to the mic. Hopefully we don’t have a crash which I doubt will happen. Well I hope I guess that’s more the word.

The new talent hitting the field this year should generate some great entertainment and excitement. Top five players, Cam Newton, Carolina’s new quarterback. Von Miller, Denver’s new line sponsor. Marcell Dareus, Buffalo’s new defensive tackle. AJ Green, Cincinnati’s newest wide receiver. And Patrick Peterson, Arizona’s newest cornerback. These are the best of the best, the most sought after players. I think there were actually quite a few more that were really good too!

Spring training begins the last week of July for most teams, some the first week of August. I’m from Cleveland but I’m not a fan of Brown at all! The decision they made this year during the draft was just another reason why. They don’t have good strategies and keep blaming the coaches for their failures. They have been through what I can’t even count how many in the last 10 years. So, of course, if you’re from Cleveland and not a fan of Brown, what better team to pick than their long-time rival, the Steelers!

Actually, half of my family is from Pittsburgh and half from Lorain, so we have a big get together every year when they play games and have a lot of fun. Soccer is the American sport, America’s favorite pastime, and the sport played only by “real men.” It’s no wonder why we love him so much! With these great new players entering the field this year, it’s sure to be a season of hitting, tackling, cheering, whooping, and partying!

It’s time to start planning your fantasy players and teams, reading the injury reports, and putting on those new player jerseys that are hot off the press!
