Things to consider when choosing a life partner

Life comes in stages. There is a moment when you are born and live as a baby. Then you become a young person and then you become an adult. All these stages of life need to be enjoyed. My focus here is on the middle stage, meaning a young person and you’re at a point of getting a life partner. You can’t stay young forever. It is important for a person to enter into a loving relationship with someone they truly love. Before making such an important decision, you should consider certain things or qualities. So what are those things that you need to consider before choosing a life partner (a loved one)? You have to be sure if you want to marry a particular person.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 says: “Examine everything, hold on to the good.” if you read Genesis 24:58The Bible says: “And they called Rebekah, and said to her: Will you go with this man? And she said: I will go.”

Things to consider include the following:

1. The future spouse must be committed to God.

A child can be raised by good parents who are committed to God and who are great lovers. However, this does not automatically mean that the child must be a good spouse. Commitment to God forms the foundation for a happy marriage. Never commit to this because if you do, there is already a potential problem. When you are presented with challenges, you may have conflicting ways of solving them.

2. Make sure your intended partner is your friend.

It is advisable to marry someone you really know. Knowing someone before having the intention of entering into a love relationship is good. Friendship is fostered before two people develop a close relationship. Meeting each other in different situations is great, that is, meeting each other when you are happy, angry, under pressure, happy, etc. This will help you know whether or not they can end up as life partners. You shouldn’t marry someone just because your parents or friends tell you to. How does getting to know your potential spouse help you when they are under different situations or pressures? Life is a reality and there are challenges or problems that you encounter along the way. Some people respond to the pressures of life in unpleasant ways. That is why the prospect must be entrusted to God because God deals with certain characteristics that are not necessary.

3. Get married at the right time.

It is advised not to marry too soon. Why? There are some things you can miss in your life. This includes your youth and your time of singleness and freedom. So you should not rush to get married. On the other hand, you should not marry too late. Every stage of life needs to be enjoyed. Getting married late also has its challenges. If this happens, some people end up making mistakes in choosing life partners when under pressure.

4. Make sure you can live in your potential spouse’s clothes.

Some clothes or things in people do not change. This can be the character or the clothes. So if there’s something you don’t like about your fiancée, chances are it will never change. Therefore, knowing your potential life partner well will help you decide well. If there is something you really don’t like, avoid a close relationship. This will help you avoid regrets in your life.

5. Be financially independent first.

It is important to be in a position to manage life well financially. You should be able to meet your financial needs before you get married. It is good to be independent first before getting married. This helps you learn to take responsibility for yourself. Then you can commit to marriage.

Most things in life require money. Without it, a love relationship can be bitter. A married life needs to be properly supported.

6. Have a place to stay.

A place to stay when you get married is vital. Stability in marriage is necessary for a couple before starting a family. So a place to stay is one of the necessities.

7. Differences in education levels will affect your marriage.

The level of education of each partner is very important. Most people take this lightly due to the circumstances prevailing at that particular time. If there is a big difference, there are usually conflicts of perspective when facing certain challenges in life. Over time, the one with the least education can develop insecurity. Sometimes this is caused by the behavior of the spouse. That is one of the many reasons why some marriages end in divorce.

If you really want to have a long and happy marriage, consider these things. Commitment to God and befriending your potential spouse will serve you well. Consider the time. Your future life partner should have habits that you can tolerate, as some habits don’t change. Be financially independent first as there are valuable lessons to be learned. Have a place to stay. Finally, consider the level of education that your future spouse has to avoid conflicts in the path of your married life.
