Stripper Salaries: How Much Money Do Strippers Make?

I get asked all the time, “How much money do strippers make?” Well, it varies from a good night to a bad night, but let’s say a stripper only makes an average of $200 a shift and works 4 times a week. That’s $800/week or $40k per year. If she works 5 times a week, that’s $1000/week or $50k per year. When I first published this article in the fall of 2007, most strippers I knew averaged $500 a shift, working 4 shifts a week, which translated to a 6 figure business.

Some strippers still make that kind of money (those who have taken a stripper sales training course certainly do!) However, most exotic dancers I know have made 20% or more profits due to the economic slowdown.

I spent a good 2 hours researching the Bell Curve professional salary statistics. If you’re not a statistician, let me explain. In this case, the bell curve measures the distribution of wages from the lowest 10th percentile, the middle 50th percentile, and the highest 90th percentile. The bell curve measures data more accurately than an average. The average is a bad measure of data because a number that is too high or too low can completely skew your average. (postpone, postpone….I was a math teacher, remember?)

All figures are in thousands of dollars, except that M stands for millions.

I included the baseball players because I find it funny how these little league guys get into the Strip Club during spring training. They love to tell the door staff that they get in for free because they’re baseball players, and they think the girls should give them free dances because they’re baseball players. New girls eat it because they think they’re sitting on the lap of the next Derek Jeter. Uh…. nope…. homeboy only makes $2500 a month!! Also keep in mind that although newspapers report the average baseball salary to be 2 million, most of that money goes to top players like Bonds, Jeter, Sosa, etc. Most of the guys in the league are making $385K. Not bad… but far from the “average” of 2 million.

What I found most depressing were the salaries for higher education. Everyone knows that public school teachers don’t make a lot of money…but college professors aren’t far behind. Look at the salary range of university deans! These are some of the brightest minds in the world… and aren’t they making a lot more than a stripper?

Drive home the fact that EDUCATION is not equal to MONEY not anymore. I wish I could change that equation, but I can’t. Go to school, get an advanced degree guarantee you have a secure job with a pension, as many college grads are now discovering.

I’m not saying stripping is the solution for every attractive woman. However, if you are considering becoming a stripper or want to make more money by stripping, a sales training course can help.
