Nordic Track C2200 treadmill – Silent, smooth and economical

As with all other treadmills made by ICON, the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill comes with a plethora of trademark descriptions. First, let’s eliminate some of them and try to make reviewing the actual product a little easier on the eyes. It is worth noting here that there are several model numbers for the C2200 Nordic Track treadmill and some of them have confusingly different specifications. Why, I don’t know, but if you’re considering buying this treadmill, currently on sale for $699, make sure you’re not reading an old review!

The principal caracteristics Ten training programs on the C2200 Nordic Track treadmill will give you plenty of options. There are eight preset personal trainer programs and two customizable programs. Each program is divided into 30-second or one-minute segments, with a speed and incline setting for each section. The treadmill automatically adjusts the settings as you go through each of these segments. You can also change the settings yourself by pressing the speed or incline buttons during the program, and it’s also possible to repeat a segment if you don’t want to move on to the next one too soon.

The Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill has a good size 20″ x 55″ belt. The padded platform, with another naughty name, “DuraSoft III(TM) Shock Cushioning”, is a joy to wear, and really makes working out at home so much more enjoyable than going outside.

With apologies in advance for the excess TM, the Solaris(TM) lighting console has four LED displays; calories/distance, carbs/incline, time/pace, and pulse/speed. The console also has training zone indicators, plus a 1/4 mile track on the display matrix. You can measure your heart rate using the handgrip’s pulse sensors, or the “optional” chest pulse sensor (meaning you have to pay extra for it). I have to admit I never used iFIT for extra workouts, but the C2200 has this technology built in if you want to connect the treadmill to your PC or home stereo and pay top dollar for extra personal training programs.

Like many of today’s folding treadmills, the Nordic Track model C2200 treadmill has a user-friendly folding design. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that exercise equipment this size will be as compact as storing your ironing board.

Conclution The Nordic Track Treadmill Model C2000 does its job well and is very reasonably priced for a treadmill of this caliber. It’s acceptably quiet, and I especially like the padded cover. The negatives are the limited parts warranty and expensive extras. Overall, though, I’d recommend the Nordic Track C2200 as a home fitness solution.
