Never leave a child alone with a video game

Being a parent today, it is so hard to take care of your child while earning money for both of you to live the lives you are accused of. You have to choose one; to be a father at home, or to be a father who will work so that they have a home.

It is an election in which it seems that it is so difficult to choose. But, again, society chooses for us. We have to work. We have to spend at least eight hours away from our family for them to live a better life.

Sometimes having a babysitter can be expensive, so parents are looking for alternatives on how to keep their child occupied while the parents are away.

Some parents would give their children a video game to worry about while the parents are away. For some parents, this can be a distraction so children don’t feel like their parents aren’t spending time with them. But some kids associate video games with parents who don’t spend time with them.

As soon as your child has his video game console, he will immediately go into his room and play by himself. There are times when children as young as eight are stuck inside their room playing until 4 in the morning. This becomes a repeated pattern and lowers the child’s performance in physical activities and in school.

The discipline seems to disappear because the parents think that everything is going well for the child locked up in his room. In the child’s mind, all he can think about is watching the monitor, playing the game, beating the boss, and learning bad manners.

Leaving a child in front of a video game especially without guidance would only deteriorate your relationship with him. A video game builds a wall between the child and the parent because all of the child’s attention is focused on the game. The parents, well, they seem to be just a passerby inside the house.
The insecure mind of a child gives the danger of not determining what is right and what is wrong, what is right and what is wrong.

Video games are not a response to your absence. Your child will only have a small amount of time to grow up and become a good person. It is your job to raise and mold it. A child will only become a child once in his life. Get the most out of it.
