bug drama

(Outside the Peruvian jungles)

The mosquito’s song is worse than its bite.

If you try to hit it, it will taunt your ear all night long!

The bedbug is not that different from the mosquito, or its companion the fly.

He’ll bite you first, then he’ll sing his song, and if you try to stop him

Be careful, he will bring all his friends.

They are all interlopers of long nights, sent from hell!

Some maybe even from heaven.

They can make a man look gaunt and exhausted, just thinking about going to bed in the Amazon jungles and Satipo of Peru.

A distraction the best! With its ravages and insect rituals.

Revenge is sweeter when you bring a can of bug spray, so the bug drama fades like: winter to summer.

old friends soldiers

“When he left it was like a speeding train: Butch and I

McGee, on opposite paths, in different dark tunnels;

In West Germany, in those distant days of the Iron Curtain.

That was back in ’76,” said Corporal Sergeant Buck.

“He was restless, calm and never late, life stared

Through his eyes! And the youthful vision of him.”

Before they were connected again, four decades would pass:

No light would have entered their unbreakable bond.

Therefore, in their tantalizing reunion, neither had lost their

The sky or the ground, but rather I found that everything was quite natural.

To the evil of man!

He it is apparent – Pope Francis inferred yesterday:

He who is corrupt does not feel the need of God, and of God

Sorry!

Fight their corruption to free themselves from their

Depravity!

Tokyo Tower

(…and an old phobia)

The Tokyo Tower is not that different from the Eiffel Tower

But higher at its peak!

On your very roof if one can get a standing room

He/she can overlook the madness on the face of the city!

Climbing to its top, I practiced deep breathing,

relaxing therapy-

Not wanting to show the world my anxiety!

I do this every time I go to places like:

Kyoto, Tokyo, Seattle, New York, Lisbon, Paris

And other similar cities, with great towers…

Bury what’s mine, that has no justification-

To escape the revealing fate, so that the thing does not follow me.

Note: The author visited Japan in July 1999, and during his visit, a few nights in Tokyo and a trip to Tokyo Tower.

(Again thanks to my dear friend, Kikue Nishihara)
