Exercising in confinement WITHOUT equipment and with very little space

Being stuck in our houses and not being able to go for a walk or change our minds can be a big problem for many of us, and after a while of lounging on the couch and watching reruns on TV, we start to feel like moving around and doing that. our blood circulates again.

But what to do in such a small space! Well, here are some ideas and suggestions that you can use as a starting point to develop your own exercise routine!

Have you heard say”use what you havenot what you don’t have.” What we have is two legs that are quite heavy, even if you are quite skinny. One leg weighs about 15% of your body weight. So lifting those legs will use quite a bit of energy. So, let’s use them in the Following way.

Stand in an area of your house where you have at least one meter of space in front of you. (More if you’re tall) Then, keeping your leg as straight as you can, quickly lift it forward as high as you can. Try to get your heel to the height of your belly button by kicking it up. You may put your hand on a table or doorknob for balance. Alternate legs, so do left, right, left, right continuously until you get tired. After about 20 of these, you’ll notice your breathing getting heavier. That means your blood is starting to move! Hurrah!

Then turn around and, keeping your legs straight, lift each leg back the same way, doing left, right, left, right, and so on until tired.

Catch your breath, then run easily in place for a while until you feel ready for some more, and then repeat as much as you can.

then there is dance. Nothing fancy, something like a two-step dance, as long as it gets you jumping and getting your blood circulation going! So put on upbeat music with a good beat and start dancing! Try coming up with new dance moves, get a little ballistic and kick your legs up and arms go crazy – the more movement the better. This will also save you heating costs because it will get so hot that you won’t need any heating at all. It also helps with digestion, eventually making you slimmer and flushing out all the toxins from your body. A win-win situation.

Too fragile for all this crazy exercise? Well, make some space in your largest room, or several rooms, and make a “track” that you can walk on, it could be a figure eight or a random pattern through your house or apartment. Make sure you have a place where you can turn around easily enough to go back to the start. Then measure this “track” to find out how far one “turn” is. Now you can walk on this track for as long as you can, changing directions from time to time so that you work all your muscles equally. Count the number of laps so you know how far you’ve walked, then you can try to improve on that the next time you walk. You can also put music to make it a little more pleasant. I managed to walk 2 km in my little house, so try to beat that.

if you have Small children, place them all over the house. They will love it and you will get fit! If you have rugs you can push the little ones around in a cardboard box, they always enjoy that, and it really works every muscle in your body!

So there is no excuse now! You have all the gym equipment you need built into your own body! Let’s do it!

Drop me a comment to let me know how you’re doing!
