Does money provide personal satisfaction?

Imagine you are a billionaire and you have everything money can buy… large tracts of land, mansions overlooking the sea, the most expensive boats, luxurious cars, a personal jet, adventures, even beautiful women… just to mention. some. . Does this guarantee personal satisfaction or true happiness?

It is a fact that people need money to survive. You sell goods and services for money and use it to buy what you want. No money, no trade! The whole world revolves around money and it takes talent and skill to use it well. Money is important and that is why we strive to get or create jobs that give us a good income. Therefore we can:

  1. Know all our personal expenses, loans and pay taxes.
  2. Invest it and save it for our own future use or for the next generation.
  3. Enjoy the basic necessities of life and live a healthy lifestyle.
  4. Obtain value and status in society which increases our self-esteem.
  5. Save and change lives, provide education and charity to those in need.

The reasons for the uses of money are endless. I have heard many people say that “…with money I am financially secure, confident and content.” Yes, you can achieve a certain amount of happiness, but when is the money trap so bad that it takes away all personal satisfaction?

I honor and admire the first female British Prime Minister, I quote as the best answer “…Too much love for money for its own sake”

Did you know that too much love for money can make you lose track of the things that meant so much in your life to the point that you only care about yourself and money? Yes…it even gets worse when you start seeing people as objects for your own use. At this level, your personal intentions for money use have been corrupted instead of the pure and true motives that bring real value to life. So we ask ourselves: Is all there is money?

Let’s examine what happens when you have too much money left over:

1. You can rarely build good, solid relationships because you have devoted all your time to “Almighty Dollar”! Depending on the job you do, spending less time with family that demands love, care and attention will take away your personal happiness. You may not have a long-lasting relationship, so you need to strike a balance between the two of you.

2. You can become a mean and deceitful person when you use money to control and divide people. Notice that when money is used in this way, it becomes an illusion and in the end it exercises power over you… because it is your god. Such people lose their morality and stop being men of good character in society. There is no room for personal satisfaction in this type of person.

3. You can become a very lonely person because you lack genuine friends. Now that you’ve become a millionaire, many will be attracted to your money, but not the inner person you really are. Everyone will want to associate and be seen with a rich and glamorous person that the world portrays as a gentleman. But deep in the heart of this millionaire is a person who wants to be seen as a normal human being, down to earth and longing to be accepted for who he really is. If this millionaire hits rock bottom in his finances… where will all his friends be?

This is why I love and agree with the famous media owner, Oprah Winfrey, when she quotes that “ Everyone wants to ride with you in a limo, but what you want is someone to take a bus with you when the limo breaks down.” My God, I was wrong!

4. Globally, too much love of money has caused greed, competition for power, and a scramble for more resources in search of more wealth. This has led to suspicion, war, economic instability and corruption in the world we live in today. Where there is no peace, there can be no contentment.

5. Unless you exercise daily, stick to a healthy diet, and keep renewing your mind often with affirmations and positive sayings, unless you learn to control your mind, those who have too much money are prone to anxiety or depression. Because? Because they are guilty of worrying so much about their own safety and that of their money.

In conclusion:

You can banish all the miseries that come with having too much money by learning and practicing the Art of Giving because it is good for your spirit. When you distribute your wealth in the form of gifts to those in need and give God back his share, you are happier and can enjoy a tax break. These people are generally satisfied when they see that their funds have accomplished something or made a difference in someone’s life. This inspires your creative ability to make more wealth. A good example is the founder and billionaire of Microsoft, Mr. Bill Gates, who does good for the world. No wonder it’s getting richer every day! The principle of the Biblical scriptures is correct: “As we give, so we receive.” The late Erich Fromm (German social psychologist 1900-1980) still upholds the saying that “he who has a lot is not rich but he who gives a lot”. These pure and true motives are of great value for personal satisfaction and true happiness.
