A business proposal is an offer letter that can be classified as a “persuasive document.” It has been called or cataloged like this because the sole purpose of preparing and sending an offer letter is to persuade the customer to buy the product or service or accept an offer made by the company. It is not an easy task to write an offer letter and make it persuasive in nature so that a reader is motivated to look into the proposal and make a decision to purchase your services or accept your proposal. There are many simple tricks and techniques you can use to write an attractive letter of proposal.

On the surface, your goal as a salesperson is to provide a solution to a customer’s problems. Beneath the surface, however, you want a potential customer to accept your offer and you can earn revenue from the contract or deal made. To achieve this purpose, a marketer needs to conduct extensive research on the target audience or target customers. This helps you get to know and understand your customer better. Once you understand your potential customer’s needs and requirements, you can communicate how your organization can solve these problems or meet customer needs.

When writing a business proposal, a seller needs to keep a few points in mind. There are some essential or basic features of an offer letter without which an offer letter is incomplete. You should divide the letter into some main subtopics for a better understanding of the reader. Mention the main idea first in the ‘Executive Summary’ of the letter. You can also mention about the budget of the offer. Don’t use the word “budget” and make it sound like an investment instead of just mentioning the price. You can then profile your company for credibility, past projects, achievements, and credentials. After presenting all these things in summary, you can present your main contract and end it with a thought-provoking concluding paragraph. Choose your cover letter, layout, header, fonts, and other formats carefully and professionally.
