Combat stress and anxiety through self-hypnosis

Self hypnosis is one of the best forms of hypnosis. One does not have to rely on a hypnotist and it is simpler, easier and free. It is used for a number of different reasons and variations ranging from ‘lose weight’ to ‘quit smoking’ and from ‘sleep better’ to ‘become confident’.

Now, many psychologists and hypnotists suggest that anxiety and stress can be combated and eliminated through a simple self-hypnosis session. The fact behind the idea is that when we are under stress, panicked and anxious about something, our mind cannot consciously avoid it. Since hypnosis is meant to work on the subconscious mind, it is easier to access the subconscious mind to instruct the conscious mind to calm down.

Fighting stress and anxiety through self-hypnosis is the easiest of all other methods. During stress or an anxiety attack, when your whole body is tense, sit in a comfortable place, in a comfortable position. Take a deep breath and imagine that all the bad things in your life are coming out of your brain with each exhaled breath. Now begin to imagine yourself as part of your favorite visual images. For example, it can be a beach or a fragrant garden as well as a lake, etc.

Imagine yourself getting closer and closer to your favorite place in that place. When you get to that place, spend as much time as you want there. Your nerves will be totally relaxed. Now, to get back, try to get out of the place as slowly as you got there. When you finally leave, tell yourself that this is my heaven in times of stress and I can come here anytime I want to be more calm and collected.
How does it work?

It works on a simple principle. You have a resource to go and get rid of your problems whenever you feel like it. In times of anxiety or stress, even when you think about going there, your brain will produce a specific mood-enhancing chemical and your spirits will be lifted.

So give this a try and say goodbye to stress and anxiety.
