Caesar’s Palace Buffet Lago – Is this really one of the best buffets in Las Vegas?

First of all, as you make your way through this huge maze-like complex, you’ll notice that as you approach your all-you-can-eat eating area, the decor eventually becomes up-to-date and stylish. . You will get the impression that if you just walked into a high class restaurant instead of an all you can eat restaurant; this does seem to be the upgrade trend across the Strip, though only 3 have managed to pull it off so far (Aria, Treasure Island, and this all-you-can-eat). Here, however, there is not enough space between the tables, in our opinion, but the general decoration will still allow you to feel indulged.

Unfortunately, with Harrah’s 24-hour pass (more on that later) there are massive lines you’ll have to endure, especially for lunch and dinner. Also, the price is also on the higher end but somehow it doesn’t translate into a really enjoyable experience. This is why:

– The food is generally good, but the variety of dishes is so small that you can’t really eat as you would expect to eat in a place like this.

– Offers very well cooked vegetables, which is great if you want to try and eat healthy and still enjoy the taste; their quality is above average, though not necessarily as good as at the Bellagio (but you’ll enjoy them).

– Their salad section is insanely basic. You would expect this from a lower end restaurant, but never anything even average. If you love salads, then go somewhere else (the Mirage all-you-can-eat, for example, where they do excellent salads, all made to order).

– Their meat and fish sections are too small. It’s good quality, trying to be gourmet, cooked in front of you like a high-end modern restaurant, but if you don’t like a dish you may have a hard time finding an alternative.

– Every time we went there was loud music. It’s a common trick to prevent guests from staying longer than absolutely necessary (mainly because you won’t enjoy a relaxed atmosphere) but we find it quite out of place in a place that pretends to be high class. If they have an overcrowding problem (which might happen during a busy weekend, for example), they should expand their seating (but then what would all those extra people eat?), instead of forcing customers to leave. On the other hand, with its new 24 hour passthey have encouraged blind gluttony to such an extent that perhaps their guests should leave lest they get sick from overeating.

– Its price. In short, too expensive for the small variety of dishes. The quality is good, but unless you want to try only a limited number of dishes and don’t mind the cost, it’s not worth the price. However, there are ways to get $5 off coupons (good for up to $4 per coupon!), making this all-you-can-eat a bit more affordable.

All in all, if you have a 24 hour pass (which may not be the cheapest or best way to eat in ‘Sin-City’) you must try this place. But, if you want to sample only the best ‘all-you-can-eat’ places in ‘Sin-City’, for example, this won’t show up, for the reasons highlighted above.
