Bahamas Travel Guide

The Bahamas Islands is an archipelago consisting of about 2,000 islands, including cays formed on coral reefs. The word Bahamas has Spanish roots and its literal translation means ‘shallow waters’. Although the Bahamas are part of the Caribbean islands, they are actually located in the Atlantic Ocean and not the Caribbean Sea, about 100 miles off the coast of Florida.

Crystal clear blue waters, seductive beaches and tropical sunshine combine to make the Bahamas a perfect destination for a beach vacation. As well as relaxing on the sand in the sun, you can enjoy a variety of water activities – the islands offer some of the best diving and fishing in the world.

Water activities aside, the Bahamas offers everything for a memorable vacation experience and boasts several world-class golf courses, historic sites, and excellent dining and nightlife opportunities. Whether you’re visiting the Bahamas for a wedding, honeymoon, or gathering with family or friends, you’ll find something to suit your tastes and needs.
