What to expect from the new iPhone?

There are numerous speculations about the next iPhone or the so-called iPhone5 regarding the features that it might have. However, the official announcement regarding the name of Apple’s new iPhone has yet to be made public, as have the tech specs. But still, this new phone has managed to acquire most of the media coverage and interest of techno geeks around the world.

The truth is that as much as we speculate, only the people within Apple know the technology that the next iPhone will have and the exact features that this phone will have. However, there are quiet conversations about the functions that this phone will have.

According to a news source, the following features and technical aspects are included in the new iPhone:

4 inch display screen

There are several news that reveal the 4-inch screen size with a resolution of 1136×640. This news came from a source closely related to the company. If we look at the measurements of the device, it shows that it is relatively more stretched. In this way, applications that have a resolution of 960X640 will show the applications in a much better view. Comparatively, the existing 3.5-inch screen was slightly shorter to accommodate more icons and display applications. Now a user will see more icons on the home screen with a 4 inch screen. An additional row of menu icons can easily be added to each menu on the home screen.

LTE technology

For a long time there has been talk of incorporating LTE or Long Term Evolution technology. This technology enables network speed and effective communication to be achieved. The new iPhone will have improved network capabilities and facilitate better communication. Another reason that seems to validate the inclusion of LTE is the criteria established by operators such as Verizon and AT&T to include high-end smartphones in their network. These operators are reportedly in an attempt to switch smartphone companies from 3G to 4G and make the transition faster. With Apple, the concept also seems to catch up, which is why the media is talking about the news of an iPhone with LTE technology. In fact, you can see how new devices have accepted LTE, with it, phone designs also seem to change drastically. Now the phones are relatively thinner and have a good battery compared to phones that were released a year ago. This time it is Apple that is about to transition to this new technology.

NFC communication

The NFC or Near Field Communication function enables on-device communication and quick content exchange. The contact is established by touching the devices to each other, the radio waves between two devices allow to exchange content more easily and quickly compared to other means of data exchange mode. For Apple, this technology is essential to enable Passbook functionality. In this way, it would be easier to make payments through mobile. The Passbook functionality is capable of integrating Starbucks cards, tickets, loyalty cards, and much more. However, it is still unclear if Apple is incorporating NFC in iOS6 or not.

The new dock connector

On previous Apple devices, the inclusion of a 30-pin dock connector made the device thicker. Another thing to note is that the file supports redundant technology like Firewire that Apple no longer uses. This is why it is essential that Apple present a new dossier that is relatively thinner with pins that support current technology. Apple can propose a dock connector with 8 or 9 pins for iPhone, including an adapter or a dongle.

A better processor

Apple has been putting up with its A5 processor for a long time. However, now that Samsung will introduce a quad-core processor (based on Cortex-A9) to facilitate faster and better performance, it is speculated that it will be included in the next device. Apple’s next processor might be called A6, it’s supposed to look a lot like Samsung’s Exynos chips.

The arguments given above indicate that Apple iPhone5 could include these technologies. However, whether or not all of this will be included officially has yet to be made public. Until the new device is released, all we can do is wait and watch.
