WARP DRIVE or STARGATE TECHNOLOGY?

Regardless of whether you like UFOs, astrobiology, extraterrestrial life, ancient aliens, or space exploration in general, we are all looking for the same result: first contact with extraterrestrial life. First contact does not necessarily mean contact with intelligent life, rather it means that the discovery of ANY extraterrestrial life form is considered first contact.

However, there is a great universe and exploring it with our current means of propulsion will not be a viable solution. Putting some humans in a little capsule on top of a firecracker isn’t going to do the job. Distances in space are simply too fast for our current powertrains.

So what are the other options? Well, there are currently a few different projects in development. Nuclear-based solar particles, ion, and some other concepts. However, neither of these options will give us more than 90% of the speed of light, at best, and that’s still too slow for serious interstellar exploration. So what is left? Answer: Warp Drive or Stargate technology. I can see some of you are rolling your eyes right now: “But that’s science fiction.” Well, not so fast. In reality, both options have a solid scientific basis. While we are still some time away from building a fully functional warp engine or a working Stargate, the gap between science fiction and scientific fact is rapidly closing. Even before Albert Einstein formulated his theories about space and time decades ago, the idea of some kind of “speed of light” vehicle already existed. However, it was only in the last few decades that science began to seriously analyze the feasibility of both concepts.

Of course, we will take a closer look at the pros and cons of both concepts and delve into the realm of time and space travel. However, it is clear that we cannot do that in a single article. So therefore we will break it down into a short series so that we can see it in depth. Together we will venture to the margins of science and technology to see where science is about to meet science fiction and become a scientific reality.
