Trial of Joseph Finder

Can a choice change your life? Bet! Ask Juliana Brody. Judge of the Superior Court and star of the Trial. The new legal suspense thriller from the master of fictional entertainment: Joseph Finder.

Only one choice. An error in judgment. Only one changes your life. Ask Juliana Brody. Superior Court Judge, wife, mother of two, and star of Joseph Finder’s latest independent legal suspense thriller.

Far from home, attending another boring lecture, Juliana will discover that she forgot to pack her good judgment. Sitting at the bar, two drinks, talking to a hot stranger. You know where this is going, right? Yes! Direct to your home.

His lust was exhausted and the benefits of alcohol long since evaporated, the company of two parts. Juliana assumes that she can return home, rededicate herself to her family, and never think about the stranger again. Amid all the hustle and bustle of a world of promising judges, a case on his agenda was gaining national attention. The CEO of Breezi (the fictional equivalent of Uber) was being sued for sex discrimination and the spotlight was on Juliana. Calling the courtroom to order, the judge notices a familiar face at the defense table. Could be? Yes, he could and he was: sitting at the defense table was the hot stranger from the bar. Now things get really interesting.

It was all a trap. Their fiery flirtation had been videotaped. Breezi intended to win this case and they wanted the judge to make sure he did. As long as Juliana kept listening, the tape would be confidential and no one would ever know. However, if she refused, her career, her family, life as she knew it would disappear. She had no choice, did she? He had to rule on his behalf and keep his family safe. But could she really do that? Could she?

What follows is a cat and mouse game that will keep you turning pages fiercely to find out what will happen next. Joseph Finder’s stories have a hint of realism, for every three ounces of fiction. The plot of Judgment could easily be the main story of the six o’clock newscast. Finder can erase the line between fact and fiction. Weave a beautiful net that catches you. Then, silky yarn, silky yarn, deconstructs the web revealing the bad guys and their true motivations. It’s a hypnotic, fun, and action-packed ride that’s second to none.

Ever since I read Paranoia, I was hooked. (That was a long time ago, well, it’s been a few years.) Joseph Finder does his homework. His books are always relevant in some way. His writing is smooth and fluid. There is no hiccup nor does it stop and go. The short, crisp chapters add to the tension, giving the dialogue a sense of urgency. The characters are well thought out, they are three-dimensional and genuine. Like it or hate it, the good guys, the bad guys and the ugly ones too, they all feel real. While there are times when reality must be suspended to fully enjoy the trip, that’s what good fiction is supposed to do: get away from our reality and entertain ourselves for a couple of hours. Joseph Finder does it better than most. He is a master of entertainment. I always look forward to your books. Although I have to wait a year, sometimes more, it is worth waiting for his writings.

Happy reading,

RJ
