Spam: let’s analyze it

How to get off a spam blacklist and how to know if you have been included in one:

If your email is not reaching its destination, it could be due to many reasons. One of the most common is the fact that someone or many people have tagged your emails as spam and this has led your email to one of those lists.

A good way to avoid being seen as spam is to add people you know because some email codes will verify your listings and this will help you get off the blacklists.

Glossary of spam filters

Safe List – The type of people you want to receive emails from.

White list: Same as safe list, just another way to call it.

Blacklist: the addresses you do not want to receive emails from. Some of these spammers will use familiar email names to get you off the hook. This is called spoofing and it makes fighting spam difficult, but it can be done with care and attention.

Spam Score: This means that some software will rate the type of spam you receive from a specific email. Depending on the high score, the email will be blacklisted or whitelisted. Usually there is a message asking if you want the email to be marked as spam or not just in case.

Junk mail: it is basically spam or unsolicited mail. Anything that did not request or does not appear to be a contact you know can be considered spam.

Junk Mail Folder – This is where all your junk emails go before they are permanently deleted from your storage. This allows you to retrieve emails that are not spam and accidentally entered that list.

Spam – All unsolicited emails are spam. It is the same as spam, but spam is the general term for spam.

Filter your folders and check that you are receiving emails in the right place.

See the following Anti Spam references:

Norton AntiSpam

AntiSpam works with Outlook Express, Netscape, yahoo, and MSN / Hotmail to block unsolicited email before it even reaches your inbox.

McAfee spam killer

Spam Killer works in conjunction with Outlook, Outlook Express, MSN / Hotmail, and POP3 accounts to block spam before it reaches your inbox.

Outlook also has its own folder that is for spam only. It has a very good system that decides what is spam and what is not, but the best thing you can do is customize it so that our address always has immediate input in your email whitelist inbox. To allow any address, you have to click on “safe senders” and simply add the email you want.
