For a social media site that is only three years old, Pinterest has made great strides. It now has 70 million users as of July 2013 and women make up 80 percent of users.

Business accounts on the site now number half a million and monthly page views are 2.5 billion.

If you’ve been using Pinterest for a long time but aren’t satisfied with the traffic you’re creating, it’s time to use additional tools to help you gain more followers.

Pinvolve

Sharing pins on other social media sites often involves copying and pasting the link. Pins are also automatically displayed in the Facebook news area, but this is not possible on a Facebook page.

But now there is a new tool that you can use that allows you to share your Pinterest boards. Called Pinvolve, this app can be installed on Facebook and allows your dashboard images to be displayed on your Facebook page.

Pinvolve is a free app and to use it effectively, you just need to sync the app with your Pinterest account.

To start using it, first find the Pinvolve app on Facebook and click the Get Pinvolve Now Free button. Then choose the Facebook page you want to add Pinvolve to.

Next, set up the app with your Pinterest username and email address and then choose the Pinboard you’d like to display on your Facebook page. Once this is done, your most recent pins on that particular board will show up thereafter.

To automatically post your pins to your Facebook page, make sure to enable Pin Sync. You have options to select the board you want to sync, the maximum number of pins to be posted every day, and a notification each time a sync occurs.

PinAlerts

PinAlerts is an application that informs users of anything that is pinned to their boards from their website. It also allows users to monitor still images from their nearby competitors’ sites.

This application is easy to use as you only need to create an account for alerts, provide your name, email and website URL.

Once registered, you can add the URLs of the websites that you want to track, including those of your competitors, and how often you want to receive alerts about pins.

Pinstamatic

When using Pinterest, you need to make sure to share high-quality images. Fortunately, there is a new tool called Pinstamatic that can help you create beautiful and attractive graphics.

There are specific templates available to use not only for images but also for text. These are for websites, appointments, sticky notes, Spotify music, Twitter profiles, calendar dates and places.

To use the app, simply go to Pinstamatic and then from the menu at the top of the screen choose the type of image you want to create. Once you’ve provided the details, you can preview and pin it right away. You will be shown various options for the image and you can choose to set the one you like best.
