How to get rid of acid reflux: my personal story

Learning how to get rid of acid reflux is a tremendous challenge for countless people, and many never make it. Resulting in them being sentenced to a lifetime of taking drugs that, for the most part, only treat the symptoms, not the underlying cause. I am going to share my story with you on how I came across a home remedy that helped me get rid of acid reflux permanently.

In 1991, I began to experience a very uncomfortable bloating sensation in my stomach area. Initially, it seemed to me that it was some kind of food-related digestive problem. The first thing I tried was adding fiber to my diet, with over-the-counter products like metamucil, to aid my digestion.

I was desperate and wanted to know how to get rid of acid reflux. After doing some research, I started avoiding caffeine, spicy foods, and anything else that I thought was a contributing factor. That didn’t help, the swelling and fullness got progressively worse, and I reluctantly went to see a doctor. On that initial visit, I was prescribed medication to help reduce acid in my stomach area.

I will not mention the name of those pills, what I will say is that those purple pills were very expensive and I did not have health insurance at the time. Which meant that I could only afford to get a few pills at a time. Medication relieved me when I was able to get them.

During my visits to the doctor, I had an upper GI endoscope procedure (to examine the esophagus and stomach area) which was when I was informed, and I was shown through the upper GI images, that there was a ulcerated area. Until that point, I had never associated ulcers with my acid reflux condition. Still the only real relief I got was when I took the purple pills

The moment I learned how to get rid of acid reflux.

A few years later, in 1994, my blood pressure had started to be consistently high. In order to be prescribed prescription medication to control my blood pressure, I visited an herbal pharmacy looking for a supplement that could help me control my blood pressure.

That was the moment when I literally stumbled upon a cure for my acid reflux. While browsing the pharmacy, I noticed a flyer on a screen boldly saying these life-changing words.

CABBAGE HEALS ULCERS

The flyer listed simple, detailed instructions that I had to follow for two weeks and said that it would heal my ulcers. I was instructed to eat a slice of steamed cabbage a day with one of my meals for only two weeks. I was determined to be open-minded about the acid reflux cure, so I followed the instructions to the letter. And to my surprise and joy, all my symptoms disappeared after two weeks.

That was 21 years ago and I am very grateful to have been helped. Since then, I have come to understand that there are other home remedies for acid reflux that can provide a permanent cure for acid reflux and heartburn.

If you are under the care of a doctor, that is good. However, you owe it to your long-term health, and your family, to exercise due diligence, educating yourself on the options available to you on how to get rid of acid reflux permanently.
