The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) recently introduced an initiative to create uniform prescribing authority regulations for all states. This initiative includes an interactive map that allows nurse practitioners to quickly check the requirements for their state. Nurse practitioners are required to earn 25 hours of CE each year in pharmacotherapeutics, and this content is divided into two categories, Category I and Category II. For recertification, nurse practitioners must complete at least one pharmacology Nurse CEUs activity.
