Disassemble and clean Seiko Kinetic watches

Kinetic watches get energy when the wrist is moving, the movement makes the watch work. A kinetic watch was first introduced in 1986 by Seiko watches. This watch converts kinetic energy into electrical energy. These types of watches need to be cleaned every 5 to 10 years to prevent malfunction and dirt buildup.

The steps to disassemble and clean a Seiko watch include:

1. Initially, with the help of a watch screwdriver, remove all the screws that attach the watch to the bracelet. After removing the bracelet, keep it aside.

2. Now turn your watch face down, on the back of the face you will find a metal plate. Remove the metal plate by holding the wall of the plate and turning it counterclockwise. After removing the back plate, set it aside.

3. Remove the O-ring or gasket with the help of pliers; These pliers also help turn any fine machinery that needs to loosen the gasket. Now you can fit the gasket with the metal plate.

4. Separate the threaded pin from the side of the Seiko watch. With the help of the tweezers hold the Clock in place and with the help of the fingers remove the pins from the wall of the clock. Now put the pin with other materials in a safe place.

5. With the help of the tweezers, slowly remove all the fine machinery of the Seiko Watch.

6. Place the rest of the clock interiors on the faceplate/glass dial plate. Great care must be taken when impeding moving parts, as the timing mechanism could be working. Keep the faceplate/dial aside along with the other interior materials.

7. The last step is to remove the hour hand and minute hand from the face of the clock with the help of tweezers.

Clean a Seiko watch

1. Put filtered water into an ultrasonic cleaner, put the inner parts of the watch into the ultrasonic cleaner. To prevent damage during cleaning, only a few pieces should be placed at a time.

2. Start the cleaning cycle of the ultrasonic cycle. Take clean parts of Seiko watches out of the ultrasonic cleaner.

3. Soak all Seiko watch parts in a container filled with cleaning naphtha for one minute, the cleaning naphtha cleans any grease or oil stains from the watch components. For oilier parts, repeat soaking for half a minute in cleaning naphtha and scrub the components with a soft brush if necessary.

4. Put all the cleaned parts on a white sheet of paper as soon as you take it out of the cleaning naphtha. Keep all the pieces separate so that all the pieces dry properly.

5. Allow all parts to dry properly; It should be left to dry for at least 3 hours.
